Karnataka State Electricity Development Corporation Keonics is a state government enterprise in the state by establishing information technology parks with high quality basic facilities in Gulbarga, Hubli, Shimoga and Bangalore, encouraging innovations in the information technology sector and creating jobs in rural and urban areas and contributing to the economic growth of the state.
Keonics is the first electronic city established in Asia. Bangalore has played an important role in making the city the 'Silicon Valley of India'. Kionix Electronic City has world-class infrastructure and houses leading IT/ITES firms like Infosys, Hewlett & Packard, Wipro, Tata Electronics Development Services and Siemens. Kionix Electronic City is a world landmark today.
Keonics has established a 3.2 acre IT Park in Hubli, providing world-class facilities in an area of 2,75,000 square feet to companies in the IT sector, operating for the last ten years.Built on a 73,666 sq. ft. building, the first phase of the Shimoga IT Park project commenced from April 2013 and the Gulbarga IT Park project on a 53,000 sq. ft. building was completed and commenced from January 2013.An IT/ITES-SEZ has been set up on an area of 33 acres at Shimoga. Keonics is looking for potential partners to execute on a 'boot model' model with joint land development in dedicated IT park areas in Mangalore and Mysore.
Keonics is focusing on setting up world-class infrastructure for electronics and IT related industries in the state. These industries aim to provide a platform to operate,We work with Software Technology Parks of India to develop estates, provide connectivity and manage export-oriented projects. We diversified into IT related activities in 1990.
As per Government Order No: ITD 125 ADM 2017, dated: 01.09.2017, a building with a total area of 6766.09 sq.m (72,829 sq.m) has been constructed at a cost of Rs.32.67 Crores.
The work of the said building has already been completed and the complex will be inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister on Date: 31.07.2020.
